Yesterday I woke up at 4.30am to catch a glimpse of the impressive QM2. After reaching South Head a little later than hoped, 5.45am (because of the traffic!), I had some challenging light issues at Watsons Bay. I was happy with most of the shots however as I followed the Queen, to Garden Island, I was able to get some really nice shots looking across from Lady Macquaries Chair. I have to say I had goose-bumps when I realized how big this ship truly is. You can see in some of the shots she completely dwarfs everything in sight Visit Gallery.

High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR) is a fairly new technique whereby consecutive shots of the same subject are taken at various exposures. These shots are then overlayed. The result is a crystal sharp image that plays with the light and colour ranges of the areas of the shot that would usually be dark. The look is luminous and surreal.
